Charles Schumann opened his bar on Maximilianstraße in 1982 and moved to the Hofgarten in 2003. Since then Schumann's has been the bar everyone measures themselves against: classics without frills, a kitchen until late, a boss who still stands at the counter past 80 and a crowd from students to film producers. No reservations, no phone at the counter.
