Privacy Policy

In short: baresia sets no cookies, uses no third-party analytics services and does not know who you are unless you write to us. The only thing loaded from outside this domain is an anonymous, cookieless visitor count from our own statistics server.

Visitor count

An exception to what this page otherwise says about outside services: every page loads a small counting script from analytics.axaix.app, the network's own statistics server. It is hosted in a data centre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and the data is not passed on to third parties.

The script sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page viewed, the page the visit came from, screen width and language, the broad device type, browser and operating system, and clicks on downloads and on links to other websites. Your IP address is used only briefly to determine country and city and to form a daily hash, then discarded and never stored. The hash changes every day, so a visitor cannot be recognised from one day to the next. Raw data is deleted after twelve months. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, the visit is not counted.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring the reach of these pages with as little data as possible (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Advertising

Through the counting script, every page also loads the advertising script ad.member.show/axaix.js. On the network’s magazines it shows labelled ads from members of the member.show network, and banner.member.show serves the banner images. Both addresses belong to the network itself and are hosted by the provider Hostinger. No data is passed on to advertisers or any other third parties.

The advertising script sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and builds no user profiles. Which ad appears depends only on the page viewed and its language. Impressions and clicks are counted solely as totals per ad, page and day, and your IP address is not stored for this. A click on an ad passes briefly through ad.member.show and then on to the advertiser.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in funding the magazines through advertising and showing advertisers the reach of their ads (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Visiting the site

When you visit, our host (Hostinger International Ltd., Cyprus, data centre in the EU) processes technically necessary data: IP address, time, page requested, browser. This data is kept in server logs and deleted after 14 days at the latest. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

No cookies, no third-party content

baresia sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics, advertising or social media services. Fonts, images, videos and maps are stored on our own server. While you read, no connection is made to Google, Meta, Instagram, TikTok or other third parties. Maps are our own graphics, not embedded map services.

Tools and quiz

Night Planner, Drink Match, Night Budget, Bar Roulette, City Duel, Night Clock and the quiz run entirely in your browser. Your input is not sent to us. So that you find your settings again on your next visit, the browser stores them locally (Local Storage) on your device. This is not a cookie, we have no access to it, and you can delete the data at any time in your browser settings.

Sharing

The share buttons are plain links. Only when you click WhatsApp, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest or Telegram does the respective service open with the text and the link, and its own privacy rules then apply. When you save a result image, the image is generated in your browser and downloaded directly.

Contact, bar tips and newsletter

The contact form and the newsletter sign-up come from formdialog.com, the form service of NexTao GmbH. It runs on its own server at Hostinger in Frankfurt am Main, sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. With the form it learns on which baresia page it is shown.

If you write to us via the contact form or submit a bar tip, we process the details you provide (name, email address, subject, message) in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). The message is delivered to our editorial team by email, stored in the form service and deleted once it is no longer needed. To fend off abuse we keep the IP address of every submission for 14 days (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

The Night Letter, our newsletter, uses double opt-in: after signing up you receive an email with a confirmation link, and only the click on it subscribes you. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days. As proof of your consent we store the time and IP address of the sign-up and of the confirmation. Your email address stays on our list until you unsubscribe, which is possible via a link in every issue (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). We do not pass data on to third parties.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Write to info@baresia.com. You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority; the one responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
