The Uerige brewhouse on Berger Straße has brewed the dark, bitter Altbier that defines Düsseldorf since 1862. The glass arrives from the Köbes without being ordered, the mark on the beer mat counts, and only the mat on the glass ends the supply. Narrow parlours inside, hundreds of people on the street outside in summer.
